The Madison Area Visitors Center is a wealth of Knowledge for any person looking to tour Madison. Located at 601 West First Street  just west of the Lanier Manison. The Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9-5, Saturday 9-3 and Sunday 10-3! If you would like information delivered to your door call 1-812-265-2956 or 1-800-559-2956

One of the best ways to get started in Madison is to view their free 10 minute video on  our historic town. It give a overview of the history and the uniqueness of Madison. Some of the other wonderful things at the visitor center are:

  1. Photo Book of  Madison
  2. Maps of the area (including where public restrooms are. Always helpful!)
  3. East and West self guided walking tours of the historic homes.
  4. Ride the Trolley around Madison (after 5 p.m. on Friday All day Saturday and Sunday Times subject to change.)
  5. Brochures from many of  the shops, wineries and restaurants in town.
  6. Literature from state organizations.
  7. T-Shirts and Souvenirs from the Madison.
