History of the business:
My husband and I have been doing crafts for many years. He
previously worked many craft shows in the Maryland area where he was featured
locally both in the paper and with a television interview. Duane had an older
brother who also did wood carving, so it seems that some type of wood work is a
family interest.
I have been doing craft shows for years both in Maine and Indiana. Knitting and
crocheting is something that I was taught by my grandmother when I was about 6
years old and have been at it every since. My mother was also a crocheter and
knitter and we enjoyed many hours going over patterns and projects. My father
was a builder. Give him a motor, wheels and a welder
and he would make something. He built almost 20 small tractors over the years
along with barbecue grills etc. Seems like handiwork
was just something that my family always did.
This had been a lifetime dream of mine and after Duane and I
married about 3 years ago, and finding out that he was also interested in
pursuing this type of business and after many prayers we opened in August 2004.
Starting in January 2005 I began offering knitting and crochet classes.
We do custom work. Items can be order in different types of wood or name plaques
can be
done.
I custom make items. Sweaters, hats, scarf's can be ordered in any color or size.
Afghans can be made to order. I have designed a school afghan that can be done
in any school color.
If you have an idea bring it in or give me a call and I'll see what I can do to
make this item a reality.
